Energy Assessments
The primary aim of an Energy Assesment is to give building owners and operators information about the performance of the systems and plant. The report identifies any operating anomalies, cost savings and capital investment opportunities, the size and effectiveness of the plant installed in relation to cooling loads and an examination of the current maintenance regimes.
Penalties for not having an Air Conditioning Inspection Report
Local Authorities are responsible for enforcing the requirements relating to the Inspection Reports. Failure to commission, keep, or provide an air conditioning inspection report when required by the Regulations means that you may be issued with a penalty charge notice. If asked, you must provide this information within 7 days of the request or be liable to a penalty charge notice for failing to do so. A copy of an air conditioning inspection report can be requested by an Enforcement Officer at any time up to six months after the last day for compliance with the obligation to make it available. The inspections consist of an examination of system documentation, together with all plant in operation within the air conditioning systems (including AH Units, ductwork, indoor air inlets and system controls). There are two levels of inspection as detailed below.
Compliance Inspection.
This would include an Independent Qualified Energy Assessor carrying out a full inspection of all the Air Conditioning Systems operating on your premises. Upon completion of the inspection you would be issued with a Certificate of Inspection, recommendations and Compliance report, which would also be filed onto the Landmark Register.
Comprehensive Inspection
This would include an Independent Qualified Energy Assessor carrying out a full inspection of all the Air Conditioning Systems operating on your premises. Upon completion of the inspection you would be issued with a Certificate of Inspection, recommendations and detailed report including photographic evidence together with Short and Long Term efficiency payback periods. This would also be filed onto the Landmark Register.
As a guide to cost for the above inspections, depending on site size and quantity of equipment a typical cost would be approximately £500 + VAT for a Compliance Report and £650.00 for a Comprehensive Report.
